This is short notice but . . .
TODAY, Tuesday, March 23, 2004 5:00-6:00 pm The Israeli Consulate 42nd and 2nd Avenue New York CityAmcha has just found out that the International Action Center, along with groups such as ANSWER-NY and New Jersey Solidarity (infamously led by Charlotte Kates, who claims suicide bombing is a legitimate form of resistance) will be holding a demonstration in front of the Israeli Consulate to protest Israel's elimination of Hamas terrorist Ahmed Yassin.
UPDATE: I didn't make it to the protest but here's a report.
Waving Palestinian flags and chanting for a free Palestine, about 50 demonstrators protested outside the Israeli consulate Tuesday, condemning the killing of the founder and spiritual leader of the Hamas militant organization. The protesters, standing behind police barricades at 42nd Street and Second Avenue in Manhattan, chanted: "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free." [emphasis mine - JSW]At least they understand what their mentor stood for. I'm glad the lines are drawn so clearly. There were 15 counter-protestors. Not bad for short notice.
