Pre-election whining
I wondered when some aggrieved protestor was going to start whining about Bush campaigning in "blue" states. After all, in September many of them expressed the opinion that Republicans were not welcome in New York (as though there were no Republicans here to begin with), and at the March 2003 antiwar march, they yelled at us Protest Warriors, "Get off our streets!" (as though we didn't pay NYC tax for infrastructure maintenance).Today in Minneapolis:
Several dozen Kerry supporters protested Bush's appearance on the sidewalks across from Target Center, noting that Minneapolis is traditionally Democratic territory. "You just can't come to Minneapolis," said Shane Kinney. "It's our city - it's not OK for Bush to come here and ask for more votes. It's our city."Mommy, it's not faaaaiiiiirrrr!

Blog roundup
The original group of LGF aficionados in New York City which gathered two years ago at Katz' Deli has mushroomed into a loose affiliation of liberal pro-Bush bloggers, Republican activists, and independent-minded folk who get together once in a while to do fun things like watch presidential debates, eat Chinese food, and see Team America.Continue reading "Blog roundup"

Iraqis speak
Those of us who read blogs are used to hearing the many different opinions coming out of Iraq (links to over 40 Iraqi blogs in the sidebar), but now there is a new venue for Iraqis to speak to the American people.Voices of Iraq is a new documentary opening today in many cities. You can view clips from the film on the website - I found them riveting.
Tell all your friends to see the documentary, but the website alone, with its video clips, should be widely publicized to counteract the antiwar propaganda which depends on painting all Iraqis as worse off than under Saddam and hating our guts.
Spread the URL far and wide.
UPDATE: Iraqis speak to pollsters about their preferences for our presidential election, with some interesting results.

In this election anything is fair game
The British medical journal The Lancet just published a report online estimating Iraqi deaths attributable to the invasion at 100,000. This is much higher even than Iraq Body Count, whose methodology has been severely critiqued. The report was rushed to publication so it would appear right before the US election.

Nope, no antisemitism here, move along Dept.
In our last entirely predictable installment, we reported on the selective "social activism" of the Presbyterians, which tracks closely with the preferences of the Arab bloc at the UN.
