Get out the vote
As we come down to the wire, the best way to express our convictions is to close the browser, turn off the computer, put on our walking shoes, and GET OUT THE VOTE. For those of us who want to elect Bush:Volunteering for final 72 hours campaign.
Sign up here to join up with a door to door campaign - you input your zip and they tell you what is closest to you. Then you fill out the form, it gets sent to the organizer, who contacts you by email or phone. (I think they will be doing this every weekend till Nov 2.)
Those of you in swing states: you know who you are!

At the end of every con, there comes the moment when the sucker knows he's been taken. Thus the final step in a con is 'cooling the mark'--manipulating the sucker into not attacking the perpetrator. This is often accomplished by the perpetrator simply disappearing, but if the perp is to stay around, other arrangements must be made.
There are two basic strategies:
1. Convince the sucker that he has committed a crime, and will be worse off if he publicizes his plight, or
2. Off-load the blame on a third party (perp to mark:"We were both taken in by that guy over there!")
If galloping national debt, ineffective anti-terrorism and ill-advised military adventures eventually do cause problems for our current government, well, what's a good Christian to do?
Who drove our government into this fix?
What do those neos all have in common?
Who is taking all the money?
Who's country benefits from it the most?
Who is to blame?

This is either a quick and dirty explanation of how Israel-baiting works, or an example of same, but damn me if I can figure out which.
But seriously, get out the votes, folks.
