Nature is fun

After two weeks of horrifying tsunami videos, let's break for some natural events that won't cause human death.

Remember the giant iceberg that was blocking the supply route to McMurdo Station? Well, next week it's going to collide with a giant tongue of glacier. (via Drudge)

While we're in Antarctica, here's the last sunset before a 24 hour day.

If you never thought of Nebraska as a tourist destination, check out these aurora borealis photos.

The music of the spheres. A gallery of Hubble images with a fitting soundtrack. (via Austin Country Limits, which long ago stopped posting luscious piz of Austin, unfortunately, but replaced them with equally luscious natural wonders as well as Friday Buffalo Blogging)

If Charles Eames was making another Powers of Ten movie, the previous link would be the ultimate zoom out, and these amazing digitally enhanced electron microscope photos would be the last zoom in before the atom.
