Citizenship

I have jury duty today. I've never been called before. I'm torn. Serving on a long difficult trial would be a very interesting experience, and feed my romantic "12 Angry Men" fantasies of standing up for justice and mercy, but it would wreak hell with my life and plans for a while. Not sure I can afford it. Maybe I'll get assigned to a short difficult trial.

UPDATE: I decided to postpone for six months. I have too much going on in my life right now.

I have received two summonses.I have gone both times and never asked to serve.Hold onto your certificate of service, because it will protect you from future summonses for three years. And believe me, you'll want to avoid them.D.
