RINOs and DINOs, oh my!
Ken points us to a Raging RINO community at the new TLB:RINO, which used to stand for Republican in Name Only, now stands Republicans/Independents Not Overdosed (on the Party Kool-Aid) all thanks to the propagantastic stylings of Der Commisar. . . . So, if you're like me, a Republicanish sort of cat who has no patience with out-of-control government spending and thinks Jesus should keep his butt in the prayer-house and out of the White House, this might be the community for you. Check it out.See, this is the same Liberal Hawk phenomenon coming from the other direction. I have variously described myself to puzzled acquaintances as a "Guiliani Republican" or a "Lieberman Democrat." Since I don't vote by party, I don't care which, except that right now the Republicans (aside from boorish lapses like this) are more intellectually interesting, fun, diverse, innovative, better at foreign policy, and have better leaders in general and fewer moonbats. Democrats just bore the shit out of me (even their moonbats are recycled from the degenerated "Zionism=racism" Left of the 1970s). And all this could change by 2008, but at this point RINO describes me as well as anything else.
UPDATE: If you thought I was exaggerating, see leading Democrats consort with their moonbat fans. (It has been noted that Orwell's comments about the isolationist Leftists of his generation also describe ours pretty well, and the comparisons to the 1930s continues with Roger's evoking of Father Coughlin.)
UPDATE: It's beyond parody.

Well, I used to say that I was part of the Lieberman wing of the Democratic Party. After looking at last year's primary results, I am forced to conclude that instead I am the Lieberman wing of the Democratic Party. If there were a feasible alternative to the Democrats I'd run to it but, unfortunately, I don't consider the Republicans (or LIbertarians) feasible alternatives. I feel like that old Socialst Party song:"Bill Bailey belonged to every radical party,That ever came to be.Then he finally decided to start his own partySo he wouldn't disagree."
