RIP Already
So can anyone figure out the benefit to Fox News of hiring Robert Novak. I certainly can't. He's the kind of conservative who turns me off completely, old and paleocon. And preferably out at pasture.
Why didn't they just let him retire already. At 75, there's no impetus I can see for Fox to procure "new blood." I could hardly stand him at CNN.
And then there's the whole issue of his unfriendliness to Israel, as a Jew who converted to Catholicism.

"There's no such thing as bad publicity?"
Maybe Novak will end up being a hero to the right like those other criminals North and Liddy.

Well, um, I suppose some individuals might regard him as heroic - although I can't think why - but I think more people regard him as offputting and washed up.
Moreover, he's like one of those panel of journalists on MTP, where the median age is 70+, all expounding on the news of the day. And all you can think is gee Tim, there's no one under 70 that you know who has a relevant opinion?
Which is why the idea of him now as a "new hire" for Fox news, the majority of whose viewers I imagine are not curmudgeonly old paleocons, seems offputting and faintly ridiculous.
