Jewish blog roundup
On the Face has traded up to a sharp-looking 3-column layout.
Serandez hosted the first anniversary edition of Havel Havelim. We were all asked for retrospective posts, and he did a great job of arranging the links. It was fun to go through old posts and figure out how I wanted to represent myself. If you want a good overview of the dynamic and prolific Jewish blogosphere, bookmark this link.
The Shavivs have interesting British Jewish connections. For example, CS Lewis's religiously peripatetic step-son, halachically Jewish through his mother, raised Catholic, who became a deeply observant Orthodox Jew, and eventually settled tin "the life of an English country gentleman." When he was still living at home and exploring his Jewish heritage, his reknowned Christian apologist stepfather kashered their kitchen for him. And Lord Haw-Haw's daughter, who transcended her father's traitorous and antisemitic beliefs to become a staunch friend to Jews. (This is also a very poignant story about honoring one's deep love for someone who is in many ways utterly reprehensible. Love can be inconvenient that way.)
