About Kesher Talk

  • "Kesher" means "connection" in Hebrew. The banner image is the mosaic floor of a 6th c. synagogue in Jericho, showing a menorah flanked by a shofar and lulav; the inscription reads "Shalom Al Yisrael." (This synagogue was destroyed by Arab vandals a few years ago. The condition of the mosaic floor is unknown.)

More free speech martyrs wanted

Those bloggers competent in both the visual and martial arts might want to enter the Infidel Bloggers Alliance Mohammed Cartoon Contest. Extra points for working Piglet into your cartoon. More extra points for not using a pseudonym.

(I can't find the link right now, but someone asked Brit cartoonist Steven Bell a few years ago why he so relentlessly went after Israel and Ariel Sharon, but never lampooned the Arabs. "The Jews aren't going to kill me," he said.)

I wish I could draw, the heck with the name.

Don't you have a competition for a dirtiest mouth (on the subject, I mean)?

About Steve Bell's cartoon - I may be the only person alive who didn't know what "got the hump" means, but in case there are others, here's the definition:

"to get annoyed or upset with someone because you think they have done something bad to you"
