Fortune Favours the Brave
I expect we'll have lengthy posts on the Danish Embassy peaceful counter-protest later in the day, once Judith and possibly Van get back to report on it first hand. But I just wanted to post this new development on events in Denmark in the aftermath of the Great Cartoon Jihad.
The daughter of one of the cartoonists was allegedly sought out at school by a posse of 12 Muslim men, according to Jens Rohde, political chairman of the prime minister's Liberal Party, who made this claim during a debate program on Danish television on Thursday evening.
The girl, fortunately, was not found because the cartoonists and their families are now all living in hiding, with guards.
UPDATE CORRECTION: Thanks to Raw Data below who pointed out that this story turns out to be exaggerated. The "assailants" were only a group of 6 or 7 school age Muslim girls looking for the daughter of man who made the cartoons. Still could be scary from the POV of the girl, had she been there, but nothing like the original story made out.

On another note, Alcibiades, check this out. Some of the most egregious anti-Israel reporting from mainstream american journalist, yet.

I wouldn't be so quick to believe this report. It strikes me as one of those alarmest stories. So far there is no verification, no eyewitness, no facts. The man who made the staement is simply repeating what he was told.

So noted Raw Data. I had an apparently in there my first draft of this that I edited out. I'll stick in allegedly.

And it may very well be true; I have recently become aware of the world's grave situation vi-a-vis Islam and so nothing would surprise me,
But I think that we must be as rigorous as humanly possible in assessing incidents and passing them on. There are, in fact, reasonable & decent Moslems who just want to live out their lives quietly and politely, and we owe it to ourselves and to them to be sure of our facts before we accuse.

It looks like it might have been a false story.

It was a false story and my blog fell for it. Never again.
