Spreading support for Denmark

First, I want to apologize to whoever made this beautiful banner for not linking back to you, but I can't remember where I pulled it from. Second, check out this justifiably bitter Danish site. One more reminder of what this is all about? Cartoonist's Daughter Hunted by Jihadists. Is that the kind of world you want to live in?
I want to commend Michael Weiss of Snarksmith (no relation) for making the NYC rally happen by arranging things with the consulate and getting the word out. Michael also says:
I've also been in touch with the NYPD detective in charge of monitoring these types of events. FYI: There will be a small police presence tomorrow, for those who might be worried about sinister contra elements (which the consulate, unfortunately, has had in the recent past). Bring signs, assorted Copenhagen kitsch items - but NO sound amplification equipment, please. Solemnity is what we're aiming for.
Finally, but most important, is the amazing proliferation of similar events over the next few weeks. There are solidarity rallies planned for - in chronological order - San Francisco, Chicago, London, Montreal, Toronto, and Sydney:
9-11 lefty-turned-Republican Cinnamon Stillwell is organizing a rally for San Franscisco, for Friday March 10th, between noon and 1pm.
The Chicago rally is being publicized on Craig's List. (Wish I'd thought of that, but getting links from Instapundit and PJ Media is almost as good). Also the Chicago Reader Classifieds:
"Solidarity with Denmark, Death to Fascism" were the words leader Christopher Hitchens closed his speech and rally with in Washington DC in front of the Danish Embassy. If you favor Free Speech, show your support by rallying in solidarity with Denmark in front of the Danish Consulate in Chicago on March 14th at noon. . . .More contact info at the link. Please be outside the Consulate of Denmark, 211 EAST ONTARIO ST. (by St. Clair St.), between noon and 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 14. Quietness and calm are the necessities, plus cheerful conversation. Danish flags are good, or posters reading "Stand By Denmark" and any variation on this theme . . . .
The London rally has its own blog and speakers are being lined up. Plans are for
A Rally in Trafalgar Square between 2:00pm and 4:00pm on Saturday March 25th 2006. Depending on estimates of numbers, the details of a march to Trafalgar Square will be announced on March 15th 2006.
There is also contact info at that site for rallies planned for Sydney, Toronto, and Montreal.

My take on this whole affair… The original post is here. But I have begun a new one because it seems that we have achieved some sort of semi-closure on this issue, and also the original post had gotten too huge to handle. Now thereR... [Read More]

I´m really happy for the rallies being organized, as I´m happy for having access to all the information through the blogs.

Another way of showing your support for Denmark (Danmark in danish): Ask all women who are pregnant with or have just given birth to twin boys to name them Dan and Mark. Danielle and Mark if it's a girl and a boy. Danielle and Margaret if it's two girls (our queen is named Margrethe).
Spread the word :-)

Without your support, some politicians may just close the blinds!

speaking of demonstrations against Islamofacism... ...anyone heard from Protest Warriors lately? You'd think the cartoon jihad was an issue they'd rally behind.

I am sorry to have misinformed you. I have updated the
article here:

Ok, this all turned out to be a hoax. Apparently, Jens Rohde misquoted the
information he got from the meeting he attended. Scroll down for the latest. I
will post an analysis of who I think have been incorrect later. So far, the
actual facts of the story are as follows:
Four weeks ago, 6-8 Moslem girls showed up at the school of the daughter of one
of the cartoonists, asking for "the daughter of the cartoonist who had insulted
their prophet". They were turned away at the door.
