Condemn the Violations of the Rights of Illegal Aliens . . . in Mexico
An earlier essay discussed playing the illegal immigrant game according to Mexican rules. New details show how Mexico plays the game within its own borders. Illegal immigrants in Mexico are protected, employed, have the right to hold mass demonstrations, are free from assaults (particularly the women), and are universally seen as hard-working people seeking a better life.
Wait a minute. I forgot the word "not" in all those clauses. According to this eye-opening AP story,
Considered felons by the government, these migrants fear detention, rape and robbery. Police and soldiers hunt them down at railroads, bus stations and fleabag hotels. Sometimes they are deported; more often officers simply take their money. . . The level of brutality Central American migrants face in Mexico was apparent Monday, when police conducting a raid for undocumented migrants near a rail yard outside Mexico City shot to death a local man, apparently because his dark skin and work clothes made officers think he was a migrant.
Perhaps Mexico should outsource its immigration control services to the U.S. to ensure decent treatment for illegals there. Or maybe we'll adopt Mexican practices. Let the reconquista begin with such modest steps?

An excellent, lawyerly report about the dangers of Mexicans and the policy of Mexico. Or as Holden Caulfield might have said, 'Why are you so exercised about nothing?' The Mexicans want you to have dinner for cheap, tasty and your mother doesn't know to make it, especially on Wednesday night, not blow you up at a faelfala (?) shop. Their religious practices, Catholicism, might wound you, if you wander into one of their churches with, not exactly the hot sting of, boredom. Forget about 'Press 1,' I'll negotiate. We'll make it against the law. They don't want to be 72% unemployed or in prison under the age of 35 and extort property from you, as 'you're a racist!,' thus keeping you from having kids like, say, the Mexicans.
