About Kesher Talk

  • "Kesher" means "connection" in Hebrew. The banner image is the mosaic floor of a 6th c. synagogue in Jericho, showing a menorah flanked by a shofar and lulav; the inscription reads "Shalom Al Yisrael." (This synagogue was destroyed by Arab vandals a few years ago. The condition of the mosaic floor is unknown.)

Around the Jewish Blogosphere

I used to do these link roundups regularly and I haven't in a while. But I want to let you know that after a long hiatus, one of our favorite Jewish blogs, Baraita, is back. (She got married, bought and is renovating a house, a new semester began, she's changing careers - the usual.)

Asher recently celebrated his second bloggaversary, and just moved into a new bloghome. So change your bookmarks accordingly.

Zachary Sholem Berger and family are back from China; start here and go backwards about 5 posts.

Rachel has a new book of poetry out, and also recommends this site of creative short films on Jewish themes.

Steven Weiss' blog Canonist is always good for intra-Jewish politics and interfaith activities.
