About Kesher Talk

  • "Kesher" means "connection" in Hebrew. The banner image is the mosaic floor of a 6th c. synagogue in Jericho, showing a menorah flanked by a shofar and lulav; the inscription reads "Shalom Al Yisrael." (This synagogue was destroyed by Arab vandals a few years ago. The condition of the mosaic floor is unknown.)

Router Bleg

So, I'm looking into getting an apple laptop and have a router question for knowledgeable or opinionated folk.

Besides the cool spaceship shape of the apple Airport extreme Base, is there s a reason of better functionality to spend the extra money on that (or even on the AirPort Express Base Station with AirTunes) or will a far less expensive linksys router serve just as well.

My daughter has an apple laptop, and a third party (I don't rmember the mfg. but I could ask) router. Two years, no problems.

I've had the Linksys for going on four years. Got my iMac g5 hooked in and my wife's iBook wireless remote hooked in. Works great. No problems. Looks good, too. Not sure if I could stream iTunes...probably could if I wanted to try to figure it out.
