Rallies and protests from the past week or so - Pro Israel:
Of course, Pamela's peerless coverage of the huge rally in front of the UN in NYC, with video and lots of photos.
Stand With Us has a list of pro-Israel rallies around the country which took place Sunday through today.
Another list of rallies which took place just today. Gainesville FL, Burlington VT, New Haven and West Hartford CT, Minneapolis MN . . .
There was a big rally today in DC - anyone have a report up yet?
UPDATE:
. . . . great pro-Israel rally in DC today. About 3500 people at lunchtime in 95 degree heat on about four days notice. Also pix and video from Age of Hooper, including speech by Israel Ambassador to the US, Danny Ayalon, who pointed out that with its rockets from Iran, Hizbullah now has strategic capabilities far beyond any previous terrorist organization. "This is what Iran does without a nuclear bomb. If it gets nuclear weapons it will give those also to any terrorist organization. We will not allow that to happen."MD Gov. Erlich, Sen. Brownback of Kansas and the head of the Christian Coalition for Israel joined Israeli Ambassador Aylon (sp?) among others. Good speeches - interestingly, Aylon, when talking about terror against Israel and the impact of the attacks on Israeli cities, included Hebron in a list of three. Could have been a slip - or not. He also said Israel has had enough, and that it was going to do what it takes to totally change the situation, and return Lebanon to the Lebanese.
Also, the politicians all made a big show about how Israel needs time to finish the job with Hezbullah, and that it was up to the "world community" to squash Iran.
(I just noticed that rally was in Freedom Square, where the Free Muslims Against Terrorism had their tiny rally a little over a year ago. I don't recognize the Israel-supporting Muslim Ryder interviews from that rally, but he says that more Muslims in the DC area have been realizing that Israel is not their enemy, which is heartening.)
A report from the rally in St Louis yesterday.
Pro-Israel rallies in Milan and Rome earlier this week. The Rome crowd looks pretty big.
Transcripts of speeches interspersed with photos from a rally in Australia (not sure which city).
There was a rally in downtown Chicago on Monday. Lots of pix and audio. Andrew Marcus has pix and video of both the pro- and anti-rallies.
UPDATE: Roundup of reports from the Chicago rally, from Midwest group blog Jewish Fringe. Looks like lots of bloggers were there!
Solomonia has pix and video from the Boston rally yesterday. The Boston Globe covered it too.
[ UPDATE: More from Solomonia: Pix from a pro-Israel rally in Sharon, MA. ]
Pro-Israel rally in Southfield, a suburb of Detroit.
Last week, the pro- and anti-Israel rallies faced off across Montgomery Street in San Francisco, documented by Zombie, who was pleased that for once the pro side was as large as the anti side. Even in the Bay Area, the tide is turning . . . .
Rallies and protests from the past week or so - Anti-Israel:
Yesterday, the day after the huge pro-Israel rally in front of the UN, some A.N.S.W.E.R.-bots and their friends rallied in front of the Israel Mission to the UN. Gateway Pundit has photos.
Local friend Mark has more. (A few will be featured below.) (Yes, the Naturei Karta were there. . . . )
Charles has photos fromthe anti-Israel rallies in Dearborn MI and NYC.
John Thomas, President of the United Church of Christ - one of the denominations whose leadership has been pushing divestment in Israel - issues a letter reiterating the divestment talking points, with a brief pro-forma "we pray for the Israeli soldiers' release and safe return to family." (More on John Thomas.)

What a ton of work. If only the MSM spent as much time on a story as you spent just on rallies alone.

Thanks but it wasn't that hard. I got 90% of the info from two sources, all I did was pretty it up a bit.
Judith | July 19, 2006 11:33 PM
I was at the DC rally today and the Chicago rally on monday. Chicago had about 5000 and I thought that DC was comparable. Definitely fewer business suits at the DC rally than at Chicago.
Both were about the same in tone and attitude. Oddly heartwarming places, but no real calls to actions. It is time for me to start with my wallet and not just going to rallies.
However, to know that so many people really love israel and want to see it survive has been a great feeling.
Judith, there's another one tonight in South Orange, NJ. The governor will be there.
