Latest cultural insensitivity - the horror!
According to LGF, some random Islamist saw a photo of the new NYC Apple store and began to seethe. I made exactly the same visual association last April, and I idly wondered if Apple was going to be served with a fatwa.
However the photo was of the store while it was under construction, and it hasn't look anything like a Muslim holy site since the grand opening in May. Silly Islamist.
Said religious fanatic was also outraged that this store sells alcoholic beverages.
Except that it doesn't.
The "bar" referred to is the Genius Bar, which is a long counter where you can consult with an Apple "genius" on your computer's problems. Super silly Islamist.
Much seething in the comments to a SFGate post last spring about the new store. Silly silly moonbats. Some comebacks too:
OK folks. Let's just cool down for a minute. To save our Moslem brothers from further attacks of the vapors, let's agree - no more cubes. It's the use of cubes that causes all the trouble in the world. No more ice cubes, sugar cubes, and for Allah's sake no more cubic zirconium. If we continue to insult the Profit then his peaceful followers will kill innocent people. And that's only fair, isn't it? Cubes: one is enough.
