Help see Lynne Stewart off to prison
In the previous post about the lastest embarrassment from Columbia University, I noted that the anti-Minutemen protestors from last week's brawl held a press conference flanked by representatives of the National Lawyers Guild (former professional association of convicted terrorist-enabler and colleague of Cindy Sheehan, Lynne Stewart).
So when I was googling Lynne Stewart, I found out she is due to be sentenced this week and if you want to either support her, or record the doings of more far Left activists for your blog, you have your pick of several events. The first one was today! I could have infiltrated that if I'd known about it, now that my evening was free after Columbia U shut the door in my face - I live 6 blocks from Fordham. But there are rallies this Friday, Sunday, and Monday (and I think Protest Warrior is supposed to show on Monday):

Rally to accompany Lynne Stewart to Court. Demonstrate your support. You cannot be too “busy” for this historic moment. One to tell your grandchildren about. Crucial to the atmosphere of outraged citizenry we need. Be there for the early rally. Go with Lynne to court. If there’s no room ...rally outside the courthouse in the square. We are hoping that this will be Massive and demonstrate the strength of the People!!!
It's depressing to find out that institutions you thought were misguided but innocuous really are on the other side. I knew Riverside Church was ultra-liberal, but . . . . Lynne Stewart? Do they just rubberstamp these things, or do they know what they are supporting?
PS According to her website, Stewart is 67 and battling breast cancer. So I wouldn't sentence her to prison. Maybe house arrest, and certainly disbarrment.
UPDATE: Van offers some advice to help Lynne prepare for her stretch in the Big House.

They have health treatment services in prison. send her to jail. Many convicted felons are remanded to prison everyday who have far more severe health conditions..
oh but their "crimes" were soo much worse after all Lynne only wanted to help the poor misunderstood islamofacists murder unsuspecting men, women and children BY THE THOUSANDS.
gee how bad can she really be?

They have really lousy health care in prisons.
I know she's bad, but if she's disbarred she can't do too much harm.
We should focus on putting away more terrorists. Death penalty would be nice.

I hope Lynne's been watching some classic Linda Blair "chicks behind bars" flicks, to know what to expect. I bet she'll look pretty good in a blue denim prison shirt tied below her ribcage.

Honorable Judge John G. Koetl
United States District Judge
Southern District of New York
United States Courthouse
500 Pearl Street
New York, NY 10007
Dear Honorable Judge Koeltl,
I am writing regarding the conviction and future sentencing of attorney Lynne Stewart. On February 10, 2005—after thirteen days of deliberations—a federal jury in New York City found Lynne Stewart guilty on five counts of defrauding the government, conspiracy, and providing support for terrorism. She also willingly violated of Bureau
of Prisons-mandated Special Administrative Measures (SAMs) designed to prevent Stewart from publicly revealing the substance of any conversation with her client.
Stewart provided material support to the Islamic Group (IG), an Egypt-based terrorist organization with close links to Osama bin Laden's Al-Qaeda network. Supporting terrorism is an incredibly serious crime and requires serious punishment.
As a stalwart supporter of human rights, liberty and freedom I encourage you to sentence her to life in prison for helping Sheik Rahman in his plots to murder Jews and other innocent Americans. Given her support and facilitation of terrorist acts, I implore you to implement an appropriate sentence for Lynne Stewart. She should be not be given a less harsh sentence than her Muslim co-defendants.
The people of the United States are a freedom-loving people. We must not allow the forces of terror and their willing allies to manipulate our judicial system for their perverted benefit.
Sincerely,
Not a Lynne Fan | October 12, 2006 01:05 PM
