So It Begins....Impeachment, That Is
Despite protestations to the contrary from soon-to-be Speaker of the House Rep. Nancy Pelosi, talk of impeachment proceedings against President Bush and Vice-President Dick Cheney has already begun.
Never to be quelled by the "right-wing" Democratic Party leadership, Bay Area moonbats are certainly gearing up for an impeachment battle. Measure H in Berkeley and Measure J in San Francisco, both of which call for impeachment, passed handily. Other indications that local lefties never got the memo can be found in the following local events listings...
Friday November 10, 7:00 p.m. IMPEACH THE PRESIDENT?Nothing like naked hippies to force action.Project Censored Director Peter Phillips gives a talk titled "Impeach the President: The Bush Regime's War Crimes Are Intolerable!" based on the book he edited and co-authored with Howard Zinn and Dennis Loo. SEIU Local 715, 2302 Zanker Rd., San Jose. $5-$15/suggested donation. Sliding scale. Free/students. For information go to: http://www.sbm4peace.org/.
Saturday, November 11, 11 a.m. BEACH IMPEACH
Nancy Pelosi says impeachment is "off the table." Don't agree? Join the Beach Impeach at Ocean Beach in San Francisco. We'll need 1,000 bodies on the beach to form the letters IMPEACH BUSH. A helicopter is going to be just off the coast to photograph the moment to send to Speaker Pelosi. For information go to: http://www.bodiescount.org/.
Then again, Rep. Charlie Rangel, future chair of the Ways and Means Committee, speaking to Fox News' Shepard Smith after the election, promised ominously that "there will be hearings."
The next two years is going to be so much fun.
Adding to the whispers of discontent, disgruntled conservatives angry at Bush's stealth plans for a borderless North American Union consisting of America, Canada and of course, Mexico, might be on board for impeachment too.
Bring it on!

[ Alcibiades adds: According to Newsmax, Ed Koch is predicting a push to impeach Bush by the Dems as well:
Some congressional leaders will push for President Bush's impeachment now that the Democrats have taken control of the House and possibly the Senate, former New York Mayor Ed Koch predicts."I expect that [Rep. John] Conyers as chairman [of the House Judiciary Committee], now with great freedom, will do anything he can to commence such impeachment or investigatory activity, and we'll see whether Pelosi will prevent it," Koch says. ]
