Jewish Cultural Posters from . . . Poland?
If you're Jewish, Jewish-Polish, or even just a fan of poster art, the current exhibit in the lobby of the JCC on Amsterdam Avenue in New York is well worth a visit. Called simply "Polish Jewish Cultural Posters," the examples span the era 1945-1989 and cover movies, theatrical presentations, operas and even circuses. You'll see some familiar source materials, such as from Sholom Aleichem, Isaac Bashevis Singer and Anne Frank.
The posters are for sale, and a free exhibit guide gives an overview of everything in the show.
