Rudy puts his foot in it
Although we are supporting Rudy Giuliani for POTUS, we are not blind to his less-than-sterling qualities. And it doesn't bother us when others are made aware of his less-than-sterling qualities, especially when some of those can be seen as advantages in the bruising geopolitical battles which await any Commander in Chief.
But we also are aware that it's a long road to the 2008 GOP convention, and we knew that during that time Rudy was going to put his foot in it at least once. Everyone does, and you can't be the front-runner for a year and a half straight. We have now reached one of those moments. Rudy, you do not want your wife at Cabinet meetings. That's just a hugely inappropriate thing to suggest. This is a year-long job interview. You don't suggest to your desired future boss that once you are hired you will invite your spouse to hang out in your cubicle.
UPDATE: On the other hand, as Ann Althouse points out in reference to one of Rudy's competitors:
It will be overwhelmingly strange to have a former President back in the White House in the spousal capacity. Can we talk about that a little? I think it's quite odd that we're talking about how Judith Giuliani will be contributing to national policy, but we're not talking about what Bill Clinton will be doing. Why the big silence?
Well, there are many reasons I'm not going to vote for Hillary, but I'm going to add that one.
