Rally Against Islamofascism
Today The United American Committee convened Rallies Against Islamofascism in several US cities, the main one at Ground Zero. Urban Infidel has a slideshow on Flickr.
The LA rally was held in front of CAIR's Southern California Office, and included hanging an effigy of bin Laden.
More to come.
UPDATE: Some photos below courtesy of Kesher Talk roving reporter Pamela Hall (who was also our infiltrator to the "End Israel Apartheid" events last month). Pamela helped organize this event and we hope to get a report from her soon.
UPDATE: Informal report from a Jihad Watch comment thread below.

From Jihad Watch, whose commenters are more rabid than those at LGF:
First, sketchy impressions from New York (just returned home on a super ride on the Greyhound):-the UAC New York organizer of the rally is a mighty lady; she managed to assemble a mostly intelligent pack of speakers that kept going well after the closing time;
-a majority of the speakers were women from all walks of life, knowledgeable, articulate, well-grounded. One, speaking about the plight of Israel, was very emotional and kind of lost her bearings. I guess it's hard to be cool and composed when speaking from near Ground Zero
-the guy who called himself Ibrahim, perhaps an American convert to Islam who looked like an aging biker/Vietnam Vet, made very little sense with his allegiance to the path Mohammed set, despite his condemnation of "terrorists." The guy seemed honest but deluded. He made you wander if he really knew what that Mohammedan path really was.
-there was a young guy with a new party, the Loyalist Party, right at the end, who seemed to know Islam, but he was an ad-hoc speaker, and he could not expand, though the people wanted to hear him.
-there was a "born-again" lady, inviting Muslims to accept Jesus
-a minor scholarly disputation, right at the end, between a man who professed to know the whole truth about Islam, and a Muslim passing by who claimed we, in the West, don't know anything about Islam. The disputation remained confined at verbal exchanges and finger-pointing (literally).
-hordes of tourists and on-lookers, taking pictures with their digital cameras, held above and at a distance from their eyes, and focused on the image they received on the little camera screen for evidence of the excentricity of New York and America that the object of the picture was clearly lost on them.
-a chilly, windy day, and no good coffee joint nearby, just a Burger King and a "Panini Cafe" with an all-Asian staff--let's call it, generously, a "fusion" fast-food joint.
I recognize Ibrahim as the guy who gave me a ride to DC for the Free Muslims Against Terrorism rally in 2005. The description above is half-accurate. Ibrahim has been a Muslim for a long time and a regular at his local mosque, so no, he's not deluded. idealistic maybe, but not deluded.

Bin Laden hung in effigy? I like it ! Keep up the good work .
Our Rally at Ground Zero was only our Second Annual Rally AgainstIslamic-Terrororism, but it went very well. Much better this year!
Preceding this year's rally, we spent a very busy year meetingfellow Patriots from other groups, networking and rallying. Those of us involved on that level felt very good. We had a great turn-out offellow patriots.
Many knew friends joined us from Pennsylvania and Virginia (which wasan added bonus) I think the Gathering Of Eagles on March 17th has been really good for us all; awakening our fellow Americans to the power of the people!
We CAN speak the truth about Terrorism. We must NOT be silent.
That's the good (getting more people up and out to these rallies) and the only negative is that some want our numbers to be up there with the paid crowds that the Leftists pull. We're newer to this `game',but we're learning.
Our crowd was probably about 50 patriots who were solid and attentive; respectful. They rallied to hear the messages from our speakers and our speakers were mostly on message. We had a great
platform that was decorated with flags, flags, and more flags!!( all thanks to our flag-man,
Tom).
Desiree and StandWithUs.org (Michelle) had great posters and some of our new patriots (who came from Jersey…young TEACHERS!) had some really great posters that cut right to the message (urbaninfidel.blogspot.org)caught great shots of just about all of the posters.
We started with the singing of the Star Spangled Banner. Just Great!
Then our speakers. Chaplin Desiree opened with a prayer and a brief speech.
We had Miguel Cruz of the NJ chapter of "You Don't Speak For Me" (dontspeakforme.org); just fabulous. He spoke about our growing crime levels from illegal immigration and,of course, he and Joanna Marzullo of NYICE and Gayle Kessleman (co-Chair of NJCIC),(njcitizensforimmigrationcontrol.com/index.htm) all spoke of the terrorist connections to our open borders where they are entering our
country illegally.
We were thrilled that Mary Danaher from The David Horowitz Freedom Foundation was able to join us. Her first time out in 9 weeks after breaking her pelvis (not good). She was dynamite; so on-message. And her main point: STOP SAYING THIS IS A CLASH OF CIVILIZATIONS!(No-how; no-way!)
One glitch, Linda who was representing B'nai Elim (bnaielim.org)was a bit over-whelmed when I realized she had prepared a FOUR-page typed
speech. I had to inform her there just was NO time for a long speech. She's a lovely person, and I was sorry we hadn't communicated better. She spoke passionately, but it wasn't easy for her to
to edit while she was speaking. (Lesson learned for both of us). She and her daughters are regulars who rally for Israel every week at
Union Square. Thursdays at 5:30 they're out against the Leftist's who are rallying to give Israel to the Arabs. Brava, ladies!
Now, a different story here.
I KNOW I told our Muslim speaker (Ibrahim Abdul Mu'min (President of the NY chapter of Free Muslim Coalition Against Terrorism) www.freemuslims.org ) to keep his speech to 3 minutes. Some of our members were concerned we would be subjected to a PRO-Islam polemic and unfortunately we got something like that.
Ibrahim (in giving about "FOUR" speeches instead of the ONE we agreed to) did just that.
He is a pleasant and agreeable person (many feel he's probably a convert to Islam) but his WAY too long speech did eventually become more of a pro-Koran, pro- Mohammed "speech" ( he was reading...not orating) and the message was NOT what the crowd wanted to hear. Consequently,
we had a young man who was bursting with rebuttal to Ibrahim's apologetics (as was Chaplain Desiree…she was ready to `pull the-plug on his never e-nding speech) Later she was able to rebutt
with a fire-in-her-belly. Desiree is one mighty speaker.
Now, should that be called "hate-speech"? Ibrahim felt it was.
Back to the young Loyalist" from the crowd (Vito).
He said he is a member of the Loyalist Party(www.loyalistparty.com )He also, was seemingly, a pleasant and soft-spoken individual with a
fount of FACTS. Once he made his first rebuttal he should have stopped (he said it would be brief) and we were at the end of our two
hours, but … he went on full attack against any defence of Islam;against Ibrahim's claim of the "Good Islam" in the Koran...(Allah be
praised!). I feel strongly that Ibrahim caused this by over-reaching in his own speech.
Was it inappropriate for Vito to counter with facts about Islam's historical terror?
Shall we NOT criticize Islam? The Koran? Mohammed?
I would say most of us felt that's what we were there to defend: the IMPORTANCE of speaking out with out apprehension.
Ibrahim (respectfully) felt it was "hate speech".
On the good side we had Dan Maloney of the NY Gathering Of Eagles! They're a new chapter and we were so glad to have them join us.What a treat!
Marty Mawyer of the Paul Revere Brigade (www.ChristianAction.org)They filmed the WHOLE rally! Great guys who passed out really
powerful brochures.
We saw The Reverand S. Stinson and her fabulous daughter Minister Bea in the crowd but too late to have them speak. They've been out there,
on the streets, in Jersey, speaking about and warning of the dangers of Islam in front of a mosque! So brave. Too bad we weren't able to
have them speak. Good news, though, they have a radio program : "Think About It" on 570AM.(on the net www.wmca.com/click on PODPLUS)
ALSO, Richard Ivory, (our HipHopRepublican.com) What a great speaker. Not just a blogger, he! Richard should get out a speak more often.
I can't wait for the video. Some of these speeches I'm looking forward to hearing again.
Hope Winters of GET OUT THE FACTS (the activist group that had success recently picketing and challenging the lies and distortions in the Off-Broadway play "My Name Is Rachel Corrie"),she
also, gave a great tight speech. She reminded us this rally is NOT about any one political party. This is about the War against Islamic Terrorism. It is NOT(or SHOULD not )be about a party position. (I hope someone can get that message to San Fran Pelosi…)
And lastly, Christine Brim from a new organization
(vigilantfreedom.com )I think she said it was started by the blogger "Gates of Vienna'.
It's growing fast and already an international organization. She came from Virginia to join us at the rally and meet us all.We were so glad to meet her! What a great speaker.
In particular she made us aware that her organization is working with `moderate'muslims…if there really can be such…who are going to
help defend us from the malicious law-suits that organizations like CAIR has planned for ANYONE who challenges Islam. (in the words of the GREAT Michelle Malkin: WE ARE ALL JOHN DOE)
Well…We did it. It was a really good rally. And we were VERY , VERY
COLD!
We proudly said our Pledge of Allegiance and left knowing we can meet this challenge of fighting CAIR and the Islamic Terrorist hoard. And we must continue to draw strength from each other.
The network is growing!!
UNITED WE STAND!!
(And then….) Because we were so-o-o cold...
About 14 or 15 of us hit a GREAT Irish bar (O'Hara's) We had some great chat, great food and some great brew (for those who wanted it)for a couple of fabulous hours!!
WE ARE THE PEOPLE!!
