Michael Stipe with Hair
Time for a palate-cleanser. Last month the Way-Back Machine of YouTube brought us 3 Woodstocks. This month it's a coupla train songs from REM. Rockin performance of "Driver 8" and "Can't Get There from Here" from 1985.
One of my favorite REM songs, in a ridiculously dweeby setting:

I saw REM 4 times. Including the tour of their first album, Murmur. The second time was at a county fair, heh, South Central Rain was a big hit on alternative radio at the time. The crowd started moshing during one of the faster songs and the security guards freaked. "This is a family park!" They though we were fighting. I still like REM's early stuff, but the albums they released after Life's Rich Pagent didn't hold my interest.

I thought "Automatic" was very good and there were a few good songs on "Green."
