About Kesher Talk

  • "Kesher" means "connection" in Hebrew. The banner image is the mosaic floor of a 6th c. synagogue in Jericho, showing a menorah flanked by a shofar and lulav; the inscription reads "Shalom Al Yisrael." (This synagogue was destroyed by Arab vandals a few years ago. The condition of the mosaic floor is unknown.)

RJC on Pelosi

Re: My earlier assertion that Pelosi is a Rove mole because she will swing a lot of centrists over to the Republicans: the campaign is already starting (via Instapundit):

I am a supporter of the RJC but that ad is a bit heavy=breathing; doesn't it remind you of the anti-Goldwater "Daisy" ad? (Below) I hope it doesn't backfire.

UPDATE: Allahpundit illustrates how Nancy's egomania will work to the Republicans' advantage, without having to charge her under the Logan Act:

If I were Bush, I’d be marshalling the latest burgeoning evidence of Iranian fingerprints on Iraqi jihadi EFPs and holding onto it for some rainy day afternoon when Pelosi’s in Tehran showing off her plastic smile.

As I pointed out in the comments, Nancy is too full of herself to see two moves ahead. I have no explanation for Tom Lantos or the Republicans who came along to Syria. Has anyone found out what their motives were?

Let's not forget Judith's prowess at predicting world events. She has a stellar record.

Yes, Judith. The Republicans will win because Americans love a never ending string of scandal, corruption and incompetence.

Good call.

I don't know what the R's were doing there and I don't think they should have gone. But it was Nancy's show: she made a great show of defying official US foreign policy as Speaker of the House, 3rd in line for the Presidency, possibly running afoul of the Logan Act.

She was the one who bungled the message from Olmert, she was the one in the headscarf, she's the one ready to go to Iran to - as the Pillage Idiot comic strip says - assume the Monica position with Ahmedinejad. All while already being accused of over-reaching at home.

"no one was happier about the pelosi trip than partisan hacks like the idiots at the rjc."

I'm happy too. So is Allah:

If I were Bush, I’d be marshalling the latest burgeoning evidence of Iranian fingerprints on Iraqi jihadi EFPs and holding onto it for some rainy day afternoon when Pelosi’s in Tehran showing off her plastic smile.

And Nancy is too much of an egomaniac to figure this out.

"The Republicans will win because Americans love a never ending string of scandal, corruption and incompetence."

Like what we are getting now? BTW what's my "stellar record" at predicting world events? I didn't know I had one.

I have done my best to get around Godwin's Law by doing something just a bit different as the Law does not say anything about people of the actual era mentioning said name, thus that lovely historical contrast can show up the modern era with that not so distant past.

Actually, that was one of the few pieces that I did get nasty shivers while just doing a bit of looking around. After that I got a bit more pointed about Congresscritters and without respect to R or D affiliation.

I do not *doubt* their patriotism, oh no and heaven forfend!

What I do doubt is their ability to read and reason. The latter depends upon the former and I don't believe that any of them have been inquisitive enough to actually bother and *read* their job description. They are, both sides of the aisle, making it up contrary to what they are held to doing. They no longer hold to their Oaths.

And I dislike Oathbreakers of any stripe.
