Kitesurfing in Tel Aviv

Mary had a conversation with a cute kitesurfer on the Tel Aviv beach (all Israeli guys are cute - except for politicians - so that is a redundant adjective). She looked up kite-surfing on Wikipedia, but I have a demo video, from a kitesurfer in the Haifa harbor.

Watch him wipe out at the end, after attempting a twist.

Off topic I know, but you might be interested. While you're in Israel BBC Radio 4 is transmitting a programme (#2 in a series "Lost Albums") in which Mike Waterson, Martin Carthy and Ashley Hutchings talk about the writing and recording of Bright Phoebus. You should still be able to access it when you get home, via the BBC Radio 4 page under the "Listen Again" tab. It's going out on 8 May, repeated on 12 May.

Enjoy. It's still as far as I know the only (studio) recorded instance of Richard Thompson and Martin Carthy playing together, something I always found rather surprising. I have fun working out who is playing which part on some tracks.

Apologies for camping out here, but I thought you might like to know it was on.

Wow! thanks Rob!

this is a job for Wiretap Pro! :-)

Does this mean BP is going to be released on CD?

Er, yes. I upgraded my vinyl copy a year or so back.

The programme was ace, BTW. Though I had to laugh when they were talking about Martin Carthy's involvement with Steeleye Span and illustrated it with a clip from "All Round My Hat". If you've ever heard MC on the subject of that song (esp. the illogical way it combines verse and chorus not only from diferent songs but with entirely opposed sentiments) you will appreciate my mirth.
