Sprucing Up the Tomb of the Prophet Nahum
Gateway Pundit has a great report on renovations in Iraq of the Tomb of the Prophet Nahum, at the Al Qush Synagogue, complete with photos. It could be a wonderful tourist site, so start packing that sunscreen. You can go straight to the tomb's website (!) at http://www.tombofnahum.com/

Great Report!
So apropos...
Looking forward to your piece about Iraqi Disney Land.
Or are you visiting it right now?

An adventure travel company, which has already run tours through Afghanistan, has a Mesopotamian tour designed and are just waiting for the situation to stabilize. Which could take years, granted. But Iraq has the potential to make billions from tourism just from its ancient sites. The last thing it needs is a Disneyland. (I know you were being sarcastic, but since you brought it up.....)

Here's the Iraq itinerary of Hinterland Travel. They are hoping for 2008.
They already have Kurdistan tours, but Kurdistan is safe. Mary and I were planning to visit Kurdistan this spring but plane fares were too high for the amount of time we had to spend. Most tourists get there via bus or car from Istanbul.
